Leader of K-pop group A.C.E and independent darling JUNHEE has partnered with fellow independent Rembrandt AleXa to tackle an emotional cover of “Free,” from the hit Netflix movie, KPop Demon Hunters.
The AENGYUS-directed music video brings the world of KPop Demon Hunters to life in beautiful fashion, as both JUNHEE and AleXa take on the roles of Jinu and Rumi, respectively. They bring the emotional weight from the animated scene into real life, giving fans even more to adore between the two artists.
The cover itself holds nothing back and manages to recapture the emotionally heavy atmosphere one for one, snapping me back into the world of the film. Both JUNHEE and AleXa understood their assignment with “Free,” and both artists shine, leaving nothing left but tearful memories and sensational vocal deliveries.
Unfortunately, “Free” has not been unleashed onto streaming platforms, a move I hope changes in the future so we all can stream this dazzling cover to our heart’s content. Until then, we’ll just have to rewatch such a beautiful music video over and over.
