Bayside Release Acoustic Version Of “Mona Lisa”

Bayside have released a new acoustic re-imagining of “Mona Lisa,” which is a track featured on the band’s 2011 released album Killing Time. “Mona Lisa” was part of the songs compiled together to be featured on the band’s latest acoustic album, Acoustic Volume 2, but for whatever reason didn’t find its way onto the official release by Hopeless Records when it made its way into fans’ hands last year.

The acoustic re-release of “Mona Lisa,” which the band seems to be calling a “new song,” was released alongside a pretty simple but elegant little visual music video that truthfully is a great companion piece to the song itself, regardless of how simplistic the visual video might seem to some. To be quite honest, I was never a fan of the original rendition of the track, but this acoustic version has me seeing the song in a whole new way that I can truthfully enjoy but that’s probably because I’m a sucker for a good acoustic song.

With the release of “Mona Lisa,” I’m now wondering what other songs from Bayside’s pretty extensive catalog of tunes might resurface as yet another acoustic re-imagining as the band seems to be embracing the “acoustic lifestyle.” Which Bayside songs would you like to see get the acoustic treatment that haven’t yet? Or, would you prefer the band release an acoustic album featuring all new music?

Either way, Bayside is still hitting the road hard with some upcoming tour dates for their intimate acoustic tour, which you can find below if you’re interested in checking out the band live for yourself.
