1VERSE Explores Multiversal Love With Their Pre-Release Single, “Multiverse”

1VERSE is ready to take the spotlight with their pre-release single, "Multiverse."

Singing Beetle, a new agency making their way onto the scene via former SM Entertainment A&R Michelle Cho, is ready to unleash their new project 1VERSE onto the world with the release of the group’s first pre-release single, “Multiverse.”

A part of a bigger picture, 1VERSE is gearing up for their official debut, The 1st Verse, on July 18, with “Multiverse” being listeners’ first taste of the long-awaited debut, and paints itself as a bubbly, infectious sound that rivals what’s out there right now.

So, does “Multiverse” live up to the hype? Or are Hyuk, Seok, Nathan, Kenny, and Aito headed back to the drawing board? Let’s find out.

Firstly, during my first listen of “Multiverse,” I was instantaneously transported to the lighthearted world 1VERSE has created for their listeners with their pre-release single. The pre-release single flexes a playful space for those looking to get lost in the bubbly vocals and subtle yet sparkling instrumentation.

“Multiverse” proved to be a memorable listening experience for my senses as my imagination shot off at all cylinders as I had the song playing on constant repeat for a little over 30 minutes before taking a small break. But, during that break, I found myself humming the track’s chorus and dancing lightly to the wonderment the song brought to me.

On the surface, 1VERSE’s pre-release single isn’t anything we haven’t exactly heard before from other groups. But, while every boy group under the sun currently chases their own form of “edgy,” 1VERSE’s “Multiverse” is a breath of fresh air, a song about essentially eternal love across the multiversal plane. It’s the song’s use of these bubblegum tendencies that’ll have it stand out in the shadowy alleyway.

Lyrically, “Multiverse” is filled with hooks and earworm moments that’ll grab the attention of listeners within seconds. The track’s rap breakdown also manages not to break the illustrative storybook vibes emanating within, while simultaneously giving the guys the right amount of “attitude” to carry forward.

1VERSE’s pre-release single is a true splendor for the senses, the perfect escape route from a world that appears to be falling apart at every corner. “Multiverse” sets a solid foundation for success that their agency, Singing Beetle, should be proud of. It’s the vocal melodies that’ll have hearts melting, and whimsical instrumentals that’ll keep everyone coming back for more.

1VERSE will make their official debut on July 18, with the release of their first single album, The 1st Verse, which can be pre-ordered now across a variety of shops.
